Merry Christmas one and all!

Written by Ron Saikowski, December 25th, 2017

Merry Christmas everyone! It's that time of year again when... if all goes according to plan... we get to spend a little quality time with family and friends celebrating the holiday.

Unfortunately, the years seem to go by faster and faster and that "quality time" we long for is often eaten into by things like crazy work schedules, last minute everythings and a whole host of unthinkable problems that pop up at the last minute.

Here's to hoping your Christmas isn't like that.

I hope Santa brings you that new Space Marine Terminator model to add to your Space Hulk squad or that final Beta Dual Land you've had your eyes on for the longest time to complete your playset.

Here's to hoping you get a few minutes to relax and take a break from the daily breakneck pace of life. I hope you're able to spend a few minutes doing the things you love with the ones you love. Maybe that's as simple as your favorite board game (Space Hulk!) or playing a few Old School matches online with long time friends.

Maybe it's doing nothing at all. And that's okay too.

I want to take a moment and share something a bit different today... a quick story about sharing our hobby with others.

A fine example of snow basing if there ever was one.

I am fortunate that I still get the occasional email from hobbyists with a questions about something they either saw me post about or they want to try. When I first started blogging, I decided I would always take a minute to do my best and answer every single email I got when it came to questions about the hobby. In this case, it concerned snow basing. He'd seen some of my stuff, tried it on his own as it related to his work as seen in the photo above (quite successfully I must say) and decided to drop me a line asking about some finer points.

What started as a simple exchange of tips on snow basing turned into a more philosophical discussion on sharing our hobbies with others.

All of us take up our hobbies, whether they are Space Hulk, Old School Magic or whatever they may be for very personal reasons. Reasons that are as different as every one of us. One things that brings us together year round (not just the holidays) is the passion we have for our hobbies. It's one of the things I enjoy most of all.

Whatever it is you wish for most this year, I hope it finds its way into your life this Christmas and you have the time to stop and enjoy it even if it's only for a day or two before we're all heading back to work. I'm spending the extended weekend lounging around the house relaxing. No crammed schedule, no frantic last minute trying to get anything done.
None of that silliness.

Maybe I'll answer some hobbyist emails while I relax.
